Mason Courthouse Restored Beauty

Recently, on a roadtrip coming back from south Texas, I stopped in Mason long enough and grabbed this photo of their restored courthouse.

What a magnificent little courthouse, that was almost no more.

Mason County Texas Courthouse

The original courthouse was built between 1909 and 1910. What you see is not the entire original courthouse, it’s a restored version. A fire ripped the roof and interior of the courthouse in 2021. The cause was arson.

Much of the exterior survived. The arsonist was sentenced to 75 years in prison for concurrent charges.

It is amazing how restoration miracles can bring back what was destroyed after such a tragedy.

Thanks for stopping by. Have a fab day.
