In going through my hundreds of photos I’ve taken with my iPhone, I came back across this image again I took in December 2014 that I named God’s Cat.
She appeared during a frustrating time when I was working in a cemetery to install maps. My curses ceased when she appeared and started intertwining around my feet and legs, purring incessantly, along with a few meows. Her presence calmed me so I could finish my job. At that moment in time, God knew what I needed.
Today, God’s cat reminds me it’s not God who lets us down, it’s people who have an unwavering ability to let you down in life that you come across in work or daily life. In reflection when I look into her grey-blue eyes I’m thankful knowing God provided a gift in my life without me even realizing I needed one.
