Her gravesite photo was hidden behind a sea of bluebonnets.
Oh, to have met her long ago.
She was born on Christmas Day and died before a new year began.
She was only 22.
She loved horses.
She married a rancher and had one child.
She did not ride sidesaddle.
Oh, the sights she must have seen on the quiet, lonely plains of Texas before death came and took her away.

Wonderful tribute! I love that she never rode sidesaddle. That porcelain portrait of her has held up well. You’ve definitely made me want to learn more about her. 🙂

Thank you, Tui! Many of the porcelain photos I have come across have held up remarkably well. Some have been shot at which is quite sad because it destroys the person’s history. I found her death certificate but I have not had a chance to stop in the town itself to discover more.

What a great tribute to a Texas lady. If we only know what she has been through…

Thanks, Lynn and totally agree! I want to find out more about her. She was a local Rolling Plains girl.
