Scrambled eggs as this flower is called is an early indicator of spring. This patch in Terry County is by far the largest specimens of this wildflower I have seen.
This wildflower loves sandy soils.
Wildflowers do grow on the Llano Estacado. You just have to pay attention to the often barren landscape to notice them.
