And so the secret lives of greater roadrunners (Geococcyx californianus) continues at Comanche Springs. This camera trap was very active with roadrunners and cottontails triggers for the last month.
I have no idea how in the world this image was captured or what was going on to capture it. The roadrunner is not in flight, but appears to be leaping off the ground. The images before and after are either the same leaping or are blank.
Roadrunners are still amazing me. Who knew they could do this acrobatic feat?
