Returning to Comfort, Texas – My Book Review
This is my 145th book review for Lone Star Blog Tours!
“In the years I’ve been researching family artifacts, I can’t remember one situation that didn’t involve some sort of misery. It proves the premise “no pressure, no diamonds.”
Football. Music. History. Secrets. Broken hearts. Intrigue. Friendship. Wow – this is a lot. Comfort Zone has it all. Kimberly Fish’s latest novel returns to Comfort, Texas with all these story elements and more. I really did not need to read a synopsis of Comfort Zone for me to want to read this next book in the Comfort series by Kimberly. Returning to Comfort, Texas is always good for my soul. This is the third Comfort book I have read and reviewed.
Kimberly weaves another seamless story centered around Comfort, Texas. This time the story centers around Anna and Jack. Each has lived their lives in their own comfort zones. When these two meet their comfort zones slowly break down.
Comfort Zone is a splendid weekend read drawing readers into Anna’s and Jack’s world from researching and authenticating a piece of music to an actual football game to raise funds for a school. Mixed in with all this is the intrigue from Anna’s past. Jack is a retired NFL football player and Anna is an antique appraiser. Mixing the two is what makes this story perfect.
More than these two strong characters, Comfort Zone is also about the family you create out of your friends. Let’s face it – we all have trust issues at some point in our lives. Fish allows her characters to heart-wrenchingly figure out who is worthy of those trusts and this carries her story full-fold. I wish Kimberly had included the lyrics of the song Anna researched.
If you love being enthralled in a book that takes you away from your life for a weekend, then check out Comfort Zone. While the Comfort books are tied to each other, they each are stand-alone stories. No matter the story – you’ll likely want to move to Comfort, Texas. I always do. That indeed is the best writing gift of Kimberly – creating a place many would love to live and call home.

Nice review Christena. I agree that these books set in Comfort Texas are special. Christian romance has never been a genre I’ve read much, but I’ve read all of the books in the Comfort series and really enjoy them. They are always about story first and the spiritual elements just slide in naturally and never preachy.
