You know those moments when you’re directed to the longest checkout line imaginable—for both returns and purchases—and you’re convinced the wait is going to last forever?
Just hang in there.
Because sometimes the universe rewards your patience with a dog.
That was how I met Dumbo.
Named for his wonderfully oversized ears, Dumbo rode proudly in his own stroller, standing tall so he wouldn’t miss a single thing happening around him. He was taking in the world with quiet curiosity, and everyone around him could not help but smile.
His person gave him a command in Spanish, and Dumbo happily posed while I snapped his photo. Then came the best part—I got to love on him. His coat was unbelievably soft, and he was every bit as sweet as he was handsome.
What had started as an endless wait suddenly became one of the highlights of my day. Dogs have a remarkable way of turning ordinary moments into memorable ones.
