THE TRACEVERSE SERIES!
Suspenseful Mix of Sci-Fi and Mystery – My Book Review
The ears of a living being can’t fully appreciate the vacuum of space. The true, deep silence of it is lost on even the precious few who have found themselves among the black vacuum with nothing but a spacesuit for protection.”
How many of us have looked up into the night sky and wondered about the possibility of other life in another galaxy? Admit it, most of us have dreams for reaching for the stars, as well as wondering could other life exist beyond what we already know.
That’s when authors like Eric R. Swanson of The Two Gates, Book 2 in the Traceverse Saga. expand their imaginations and take us to worlds and possibilities beyond our own temporary wonderings. The storyline from the first book continues into Book 2. I will state this now – you cannot read this second book without reading the first book or a detailed synopsis of the first one.
Book 2 in The Traceverse Saga continues the story with the second contact of aliens and alien/human hybrids. This novel centers around Micah who is a hybrid of humans and Ceran who has been traveling to earth for the last two years aboard the ship Virgalis. He is bringing hope back to Earth, as well as trying to turn a bad deed into a hopeful one.
I have read a lot of science fiction books whose stories run the gamut. The Traceverse Saga has a balanced mix of human and alien elements. This soon became a suspenseful mix of science fiction and mystery. There are a lot of turns you do not see coming, especially at the end. Yes – this book was hard to start reading at first but then the story got a groove.
“Fear would keep us in caves. Fear would keep us out of the skies.”
What Swanson presents best in this book is the terrifying vision of when aliens do come back. Terrifying because with this story as in real life most humans are always going to be afraid of change nor not trust what is before them.
Swanson crafted a story where the stars came alive years apart. This is a continuing story about how the people of earth are still handling both the past and current.
There is a brilliant kicker that comes at the end where if I say anything more I will be giving away a big plot twist.

Nice review. Like Kristine said, it’s good to know that one must read the first book first. Folks really into sci-fi usually know that a series should be read from book one forward, but those of us newer to the genre don’t know that.

I appreciate the warning to read book one first — great excuse to binge read 1 & 2 to prepare for 3! Thanks for the review!
