Raise your hand if you have ever run into a mannequin in a store and apologized. Continue to keep your hand raised if you want to pre-write thank you notes to those whom you anticipate attending your funeral because you suffer from chronic “way too nice” syndrome. Keep it up high if you have ever farted in church or yoga class. Man, my arm is getting tired!
Most people are awkward during the middle school years, grow out of it, and blossom into mature, well-functioning human beings…I’m still waiting for this to happen. Awkwardness is my hidden talent, although most who know me would tell you it isn’t hidden—it’s written on my forehead. My daily life is filled with epic failures. Sometimes I feel like I’m one big malfunction! As I have gotten older, I just try to embrace it.
After you read this collection of essays, hopefully, you will be able to accept your imperfections too! Nope, probably not because I’m still not there! However, maybe my comedy will stick with you like that hemorrhoid you can’t seem to get rid of, like ever—Good Talk. . .Good Talk.

I remember the first time I watched Deadpool in a Lubbock theater. Not knowing what to expect from that movie at ALL. Then come find out I was the only one laughing during the screening. Deadpool has become one of my all-time go-to movies to rewatch and unwind from stressful days. To be honest I thought I was the only girl out there who liked Deadpool.

Then comes along author Ginny Andrews. She loves Deadpool as much as me. Fantabulous and woohoo! Fist bumps and a new-found friend. Good Talk…Good Talk is much like watching either of the Deadpool movies. Seriously. Relating to Ginny’s stories is second nature. Many of us have had moments in life that we simply do not share at all or only with our closest friends because those are moments that are scary funny and embarrassing. Ginny puts it all out there to make your world a little brighter.

Ginny’s humor is laugh-out-loud perfection. Her writing style and content are brilliant. My faves in this book were ‘I am a Donkey’ and ‘Jesus Takes the Wheel’.  As you progress into reading her book it is like the more you understand Ginny as a person along with seeing her progress in her journey of life with all her missteps that she can look back on with humor.

Why should you read this book about some unknown girl who puts herself out there for all the world to see with her stories? Humor and laughs to make your day brighter. We all need more laughter in our lives. We need moments where books will take us away from our lives with laugh-out laughter and head-shaking moments of saying I almost had the same experience.

Pick up a copy of Good Talk…Good Talk for your laughter fix. It is a quick read that will leave you laughing and smiling and wanting more from Ginny Andrews in the future.

Full disclosure here – I did a proof and polish of this book. I read through it first as a reader would with no thoughts of editing or changes. Then I went back and gave Ginny comments on what I saw and answered her questions. I am looking forward to more books by Ginny. She pulled me in with her Deadpool humor and that makes me love her.

Ginny Andrews is a former high school teacher and coach, who is now an aspiring comedian, speaker, and writer. She would greatly appreciate it if you purchased her book! Door Dash, dog-sitting, used car sales, lawn mowing, and selling random items found in her house aren’t high paying gigs!
